We shall create fond memories of Rafi Saheb by preserving the rich heritage inherited from the noble and legendary singer and part of the revenue will be used for meeting the cost of the various centenary events.

What is contest all about?

मक़ाम-ए-रफ़ी Contest

Versatility in the voice of Rafi Sahab convinces us that he was a University, in fact much more than University.
Therefore, through this contest, we will bring any young musician who follows Rafi Gharana on to limelight. The award will carry a cash prize of ₹5,00,000 and there will be a concert every year following the award function where the lead singer will have access to live stage, where he will perform.
This will be the surest way of perpetuating rafi and his legacy amongst young musicians of the generation who will play the role of flag bearers for the years ahead.

When we are on the threshold of celebrating the Centenary of his Birth Anniversary, we feel like humming a line from one of his many non-filmy songs….
